Folly View residents improve their PC skills
|
 |
.
Residents at Folly View Sheltered Scheme enjoyed their Introduction to Computers so much, they have now started a 10 week course to hone their skills.
After some initial doubts, the five week introduction, funded by the WEA (Workers Educational Association) was a complete success.
At the end of the five weeks the keen learners asked their Scheme Manager, Mary Millen, if they could continue their studies, so Mary contacted the WEA again, who were happy to help.
The course runs for two hours on Tuesday afternoons and covers skills such as producing Word documents and creating publications in Microsoft Publisher using words and pictures. The tutor brings laptops along so that the residents can learn in the comfort of their communal lounge, as pictured above.
For more information on the WEA go to their website or telephone them on 020 7426 3450.
