Organisation

Our Board of Management has the responsibility for the direction, policy and performance of the Association. The role of the Board combines that of a Companies Act Board of Directors with that of the trustees of a registered charity. They meet quarterly and act in a voluntary capacity receiving no payment for the work they do.

Committees

To support the work of the Board and enable it to meet its new responsibilities as a major landlord and to ensure it can continue to meet the new external and internal requirements for Board effectiveness, two new operational sub committees have been established. This will allow members a greater input into policy and decision shaping as well as enhanced opportunity to scrutinise functional activity in close detail.

New arrangements, in addition to a main Board of Management, see the creation of a Customer Services Sub Committee and a Business Services Sub Committee, each with their own terms of reference and delegated authority.

The first of these, as its name suggests, will meet to discuss the way in which the association provides services to its customers and will concern itself with things like allocations and repairs and maintenance.

The majority of the members who sit on this committee are tenants and the group is also chaired by a tenant member.

The other sub committee will focus on the way the association runs itself as a business and look at things like our finances, risk management and the relationship with our regulator, the Housing Corporation.

The Chief Executive is responsible to the Board of Management and also reports regularly to the Chief Executive and Board of the Network Housing Group on performance, strategic business management and policy issues. The Chief Executive is a member of the Group Management Team and has responsibility for policy and strategic issues relating to the Network Group.

Riversmead is divided into three operating divisions.

Housing Services
Property Services

Executive day-to-day responsibility for the Association’s operations rests with the Chief Executive and the three service heads who together make up our Executive Management Team.
