Ware Spartans FC are now on track to take part in a football league next season, after receiving £2000 from our community investment fund.
The funding helped the team of 16-24 year olds pay for equipment, a full kit and registration fees, and train twice a week in preparation for the season ahead.
John Manitara, club coach said: “Being part of Ware Spartans FC is a pleasure for everyone involved. We have created a really strong team unit, bringing together young people from the local community. The young people have been allowed to help at every stage, and have full ownership of the club with our CHILD UK team’s guidance and support.”
Wendy Duncan, Senior Neighbourhood Officer said: “We’re really pleased to have funded Ware Spartans FC, helping them prepare to take part in a 2012/13 league.
“The Multi Use Games Area in Ware, has given the team a safe place to play football as they begin this journey - we wish them all the success for the season ahead.”
