Residents JET off to improve their employment prospects

Residents of Welwyn Garden City and surrounding towns have the opportunity to attend a Jobs, Employment and Training (JET) Fair at Campus West, Welwyn Garden City, AL8 6BX on Thursday 15th September 2011.

The JET Fair, a partnership event sponsored by Riversmead, Welwyn Hatfield Housing Partnership, Hatfield Jobcentre Plus and other organisations, aims to give residents the information and skills they need to get back into the job market.

Open from 10am – 3pm, the fair will provide residents with information on training courses, apprenticeships, starting their own business, CV writing, job searches and interview techniques.

Local supermarket Sainsburys are attending the event to discuss employment opportunities at their new store opening in Welwyn Garden City town centre this winter.

Terry Burgin, Neighbourhood Officer said: “This is a great opportunity for residents to access free advice to help advance their careers, or improve their skills to give them the confidence to apply for jobs.

“From apprenticeships to starting your own business, there is something for everyone at different stages of their career - come along and see how you can improve your future job prospects.”
